Day 1: Travel Day / Oklahoma City (D)
Board your “South Padre Island” coach to discover the warmth and charm of this popular South Texas resort island. Your tour director will help you get to know your fellow travel mates along the way. Meet your new friends at a get-acquainted dinner hosted by Fun Tours.

Day 2 Travel Day / San Antonio (B, D)
Today, stop for lunch at the Stockyards National Historic District in Ft. Worth for a taste of the Old West. Then, travel to the heart of Texas to San Antonio.

Day 3 Riverwalk Cruise / The Alamo / Time on the Riverwalk / South Padre Island (B)
This morning get a taste of San Antonio’s rich history when you start your day with a tour of the Alamo. This former Spanish Mission represents the heroic stand by the Alamo Garrison whose defenders included Jim Bowie and Davie Crockett. Then, take a gentle cruise on the Riverwalk Canal – everyone’s favorite. Also, you’ll have time to enjoy lunch before heading south to South Padre Island. Your evening is at leisure for you to enjoy your beautiful seaside resort hotel.

Day 4 Morning at Leisure / South Padre Island Sightseeing / Valentine’s Day Dance with Bobby Layne Orchestra (B,D)
This morning is yours to relax and enjoy your beautiful resort located right on the beach! Dig your toes in the sand, take a dip in the ocean, and just relax. This afternoon, take a get-acquainted tour of South Padre Island with your local guide. Visit beautiful Isla Blanca Park, see the Christ of the Fisherman statue, and much more. This evening, enjoy a delicious prime rib dinner with your travel mates at your hotel followed by the very special Valentine’s Day Dance with the Bobby Layne Orchestra. With music from Big Band and Swing, to Rock ‘N Roll and Country, to Waltzes and the Cha Cha, the Bobby Layne Orchestra plays it all and it never sounded so good.

Day 5 Day at Leisure (B)
Today is yours at leisure to explore the Island, relax on the beach, or do whatever you choose. You can “catch the wave” for a free trolley ride of the Island and Port Isabelle.

Day 6 Dolphin Cruise / Turtle Inc. / Shrimp Lunch (L)
Depart late this morning for a very special lunch at the Shrimp House where they prepare shrimp “101 ways.” Yum! Get ready for an exciting afternoon when you board your Dolphin Eco Cruise to see bottle-nose dolphins cavorting and feeding in Laguna Madre Bay. Then visit Sea Turtle, Inc., known for its conservation and rehabilitation efforts for injured sea turtles. Learn how to identify different species and how these gentle creatures become injured. The evening again is yours at leisure to enjoy your last night on the Island.

Day 7 LBJ Library / Texas State Capitol (B, D)
It’s time to bid a fond farewell to South Padre Island. In Austin, tour the LBJ Library & Museum which includes gifts from foreign Heads of State, Johnson’s 1968 Lincoln Limousine, a scale replica of the Oval Office, and much more. Also, visit the beautiful Texas State Capitol with its impressive dome crowned by the 16 ft. tall statute of the “Goddess of Liberty.”

Day 8 Oklahoma City National Memorial (B, D)
Travel to Oklahoma City and upon arrival, visit the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. The Museum’s gallery serves as a timeline of that event, beginning in the morning when you can actually hear the bomb going off to the rescue efforts by the Oklahoma Fire Department and support staff. Enjoy one last evening with your fellow travel mates at the Fun Tours farewell dinner.

Day 9 Travel Home (B)
It’s time to head home after a memorable South Padre Island Winter Getaway. Valentine’s Day will never be the same with the sounds of the Bobby Layne Orchestra etched in your memory forever.
