Join your Allied friends on this fascinating tour to see the Museum of Religious Arts.

The idea of starting a religious museum came to light in the summer of 1994 while Paul and Helen Lovell were vacationing in Minnesota. The couple had attended Sunday services in a new, modern church and realized how much church history had been lost in the conversion from the old to the new.

The purpose of the Museum of Religious Arts is to preserve and exhibit religious art, tradition and culture, fostering an appreciation of religious history for our enrichment and that of future generations. The Museum is housed in a 20,000 square foot building, giving ample room for numerous religious displays.

New to the museum are paintings by child artist, Akiane Kramarik. Akiane is child prodigy. She is mentioned in the popular book "Heaven is for Real." She was a featured guest on many popular television shows (including World News Tonight and the Oprah Winfrey Show.) Akiane thanks God for her talent, noting that "I have been blessed by God. And, if I’m blessed, there is one reason and one reason only and that is to help others." To learn more about Akaine, visit her website at www.artakian.com.

The monument of the Ten Commandments stands over five feet tall and weighs approximately 800 pounds. This display was given as a gift to the museum and is currently outside in the biblical garden..

Mission Chapel

The Mission Chapel consists of pieces rescued from a variety of sources – including area churches and even a local barn. It is a quiet place for reflection.

Welcoming you at the entrance of the building is over 100 year old handcrafted stained glass panes from Italy and obtained from Boys Town of Omaha. All panes, except one, have been sponsored by area donors.

There are many more displays for you to enjoy. The museum has three wheelchairs. Please reserve your seat as soon as possible if you would like to have a wheelchair.

Noon lunch will be at the Museum…A delicious buffet of roast beef and ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, salad with roll and butter and water, iced tea and decaf coffee.

You will be delightfully surprised with the three Mystery Tour Stops in the afternoon. In addition to these tour stops, you will visit a small café and be served homemade pie, ice cream and coffee.
