Day 1 Travel Day / Minneapolis (D)
Get ready for an exciting trip of maritime fun on our tour. Your tour director will help you get to know your fellow travel mates as you make your way to Minneapolis. This evening, spend time at the incredible Mall of America and enjoy dinner at one of the many fine restaurants at the Mall.

Day 2 Lake Superior Visitors Center / William Irvin Ore Ship / Split Rock & Two Harbors Lighthouse / Gooseberry Falls (B, D)
The first stop on your tour is the Lake Superior Maritime Visitor’s Center which portrays the history of Lake Superior shipping and contains displays of replicas of ship cabins, an operating steam engine, scale models of ships, and much more. It’s the perfect introduction to your tour. Then, see what it would be like to actually sail the Great Lakes on the William Irvin Ore Boat. It will give you a first-hand look at what these massive ships looked like. Then, travel Minnesota’s beautiful North Shore for outstanding views of Lake Superior. It’s here you’ll begin your lighthouse portion of your tour when you visit Split Rock Lighthouse and Two Harbors Lighthouse. On the way back, stop at Gooseberry Falls where five waterfalls converge.

Day 3 Apostle Islands Cruise / Upper Peninsula Scenic Drive (B, D)
This morning, cruise the Apostle Islands; 22 islands make up this national treasure, containing rose-colored cliffs that were shaped by glaciers into twisted formations containing caves and hollows. You’ll see the historic Raspberry Island Lighthouse, Devil’s Island Lighthouse, and learn about the historic significance of how they shaped shipping and recreation on the Great Lakes. Then, make your way across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on scenic Rte. 28 through the Ottawa National Forest to Marquette, MI.
