Day 1: Travel Day (D)
We are off for a summertime adventure to the beautiful state of Michigan. For the northern part of Michigan, in particular Mackinac Island, it is the perfect time to visit when the lilacs are in full bloom and the island will be celebrating the 63rd Annual Lilac Festival. Our first day finds us enjoying a Welcome Dinner and overnight in Joliet, Illinois.

Day 2 Frederik Meijer Gardens (DCB)
We enter southwest Michigan today and visit the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park. Walk the outdoor trails or board the tram to view the various indoor & outdoor gardens. See internationally acclaimed sculptures within the outdoor Sculpture Park or indoor galleries. We continue on to Cadillac, Michigan for overnight at McGuire’s Resort.

Day 3 Mackinac Island / Carriage our / Accommodations at the Grand / Dinner With Entertainment (B, D)
Our mid-day arrival in Mackinaw City gets us on a ferry to Mackinac Island where we stay at the historic Grand Hotel. The scent of lilacs fills the air as our carriage tour acquaints us with the island that features no motorized vehicles. After checking in at the Grand Hotel, it’s time to get dressed up for a wonderful dinner. (Jacket & tie required for men, cocktail dresses/pant suits suggested for women.) This evening enjoy the entertainment of Alex Graham & the Grand Hotel Orchestra!

Day 4 Leisure time / Frankenmuth (B, D)
It is a morning to enjoy as you wish. Maybe you’d like to take in the Sunrise Legends & Lore Trek. Or, you may want to take a Walk & Talk to learn about the Lilacs that flourish on the island. Also, the Grand Hotel offers a history lecture with historian Bob Tagatz to learn about this “Grand Dame” of hotels. And of course, there is always the option of shopping in downtown. (Festival options may vary and some may be at nominal fee.)

Take the ferry back to the mainland this afternoon and travel to Frankenmuth—Michigan’s Little Bavaria. Dinner is at Zehnder’s Restaurant, known for their family style chicken dinners. Overnight in Frankenmuth.

Day 5 Frankenmuth Tour / Bronner’s Christmas World (DCB)
Rise and shine to meet our local guide for a Frankenmuth Tour to learn about the history and popular sites in this quaint German inspired town. We also visit Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland: the world’s largest Christmas store. Stroll the European downtown for a little shopping and lunch. Say goodbye to “Little Bavaria” this afternoon and travel to Dearborn for overnight.

Day 6 Ford F-150 Truck Factory Tour / Henry Ford Museum or Greenfield Village (CB)
The Ford F-150 Truck Factory Tour will give you a new appreciation for all the history of auto manufacturing and all the assembly that it takes to make F-150 Truck. This afternoon, you can choose between visiting the Henry Ford Museum OR the Greenfield Village. The museum features such exhibits as The Automobile in American Life, Presidential Limousines, Heroes of the Sky and The House of the Future.
