Day 1 Amtrak Overnight to Williams, AZ
An exciting adventure awaits when you board Amtrak in Kansas City and ride the Southwest Chief through the heart of the West. You’ll have a front-row seat to the southwest’s natural splendor. There’s simply no better way to see the landscape of the American West and Southwest than aboard the train. Sleep in your own private compartment as you make your way across the Plains.

Day 2 Amtrak Across Southern Colorado / Northern New Mexico / Arrive Williams, AZ (B, L, D)
It’s daylight when you arrive in eastern Colorado. Wake up to enjoy breakfast on the train in the Diner, just like the old days. Then sit back and relax as the beautiful scenery of southern Colorado and the high desert of northern New Mexico pass right by your private window in your compartment. Head back to the Lounge Car for a floor to ceiling view of the incredible scenery that unfolds. You’ll enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner in the diner during your day on the rails. Much to everyone’s surprise, the meals are very good with several entrée selections. Disembark at Williams, AZ, mid-evening and transfer to the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel. Settle in for a well-deserved rest before an exciting day tomorrow.

Day 3 Grand Canyon Railway Excursion in the Dome Car / Scenic Rim Tour (B, L)
Get ready for an unforgettable journey through scenic Grand Canyon country when you board the Grand Canyon Railway. As a Fun Tours Exclusive, travel aboard a nostalgic Steamliner-era dome car and watch as the scenery changes from high desert to prairie to pine. It’s a view that’s ever changing. There’s nothing like a trip on the Grand Canyon Railway. Arrive at the Grand Canyon at approximately noon and take a rim tour with spectacular views of the canyon. It’s what you came to see and you’ll have plenty of time to soak in its grandeur. Your accommodations are

at the Maswik Lodge in the Grand Canyon National Park Village.

Day 4 Day at Leisure / Grand Canyon Railway back to Williams / Chuck Wagon Bar-b-que Dinner (D)
Wake up at your leisure as you’ll have most of the day to explore the Grand Canyon at your pace. See everything that you want to see at one of the world’s most colossal Canyons. Take in a Ranger talk at the Visitor’s Center; discover Grand Canyon Village, and much more. It’s so large it defies description, and we’ll give you as much time as you need to see it all. Mid-afternoon, board the Grand Canyon Railway for your trip back to Williams. The vintage ambiance and music will have you reminiscing about the past while you soak up the present. Arrive in Williams and check into the hotel before a fun evening ahead. This evening, enjoy a chuck wagon bar-b-que with your travel mates.

Day 5 Below the Rim Jeep Tour or Smooth Water Colorado River Float (L, D)
You’ll have a choice between two all-day excursions to highlight your Grand Canyon trip. The first is the “Below The Rim” jeep tour where you’ll travel to the base of the Grand Canyon for a spectacular look at the flora and fauna that make up this wonder of Mother Nature. You saw it from the rim, now you’ll see it from below. It’s a spectacular experience. Or, take a smooth float trip on the Colorado River with very different scenery from your Grand Canyon experience. Both excursions include lunch. Please make your choice of tours when making your reservation (these tours are included in your tour rate). Arrive back in Williams in time for one final dinner with your fellow travel mates.

Day 6 Travel Home (B)
