Day 1 Travel to Denver (D)
Board your “Colorado Rails and Trails” coach for a journey like no other in the Rockies. Your tour director will help you get to know your travel mates with fun onboard activities. Enjoy your new friends at our Get Acquainted Dinner hosted by Fun Tours.

Day 2 Amtrak through the Rockies (B, D)
This morning board Amtrak for your first train excursion through the Rockies. Here witness some of the most spectacular scenery found anywhere in the United States. The Aspens will serenade you with their golden glow as they quake in the breeze.

Day 3 Gunnison National Monument / Durango and Silverton Gauge Railroad (B, D)
This morning witness the awe-inspiring scenery of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Monument. Embracing almost 21,000 acres, the Black Canyon reaches a depth of 2,700 feet; scenic overlooks will provide you with spectacular views and photo opportunities. Then journey to Silverton; its name came from the miners shouting “We got silver by the ton!” All abooooard! The Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad will take you on a journey down the scenic “River of Lost Souls Gorge” where you’ll see remote wilderness that defies description. You’ve always heard about it, now experience it.

Day 4 Scenic Travel Day (B)
Travel across southern Colorado through the beautiful San Juan Mountains to nature’s wonder – the Royal Gorge.

Day 5 Royal Gorge Railroad / Garden of Gods / Air Force Academy (B)
This morning, it’s “all aboard” the Royal Gorge Route Railroad for a thrilling ride through Royal Gorge. This historic route offers scenery unlike any other train excursion on your tour. It is awesome! This afternoon tour the Air Force Academy and see the Cadet Chapel (if available). Also behold the natural beauty of the 1367-acre Garden of the Gods. Balanced Rock is the most famous of these red sandstone formations at the base of Pike’s Peak.

Day 6 Pike’s Peak Cog Railroad / Old Colorado City / U. S. Olympic Complex (B, D)
It’s “Pike’s Peak or Bust” as you board the highest cog railway for a journey to the top of Pike’s Peak. You’ll have a breathtaking panoramic view of the valley below. This afternoon take time to stroll Old Colorado City with a special stop to view Michael Garman’s “Magic Town.” You have to see it to believe it! The 37-acre U.S. Olympic Complex is the last stop this afternoon. This is the training center and headquarters for the U.S. Olympic Committee. This evening gather with your travel mates for a delicious dinner and fun at the traditional Fun Tours Farewell dinner in the restored Denver and Rio Grand Railway Station.

Day 7 Travel Home (B)
It’s time to head home from this spectacular “Colorado Rails and Trails” tour, but the chug of the steam engine and the echo of its whistle will live on in your memory forever.
